Before I had received any stems I had in mind making a Negativland-esque sound collage, so I was pleased when I heard the nuclear radiation news samples on QtheRaider's track. This original idea changed a bit as I toyed with creating an instrumental hip hop beat but wasn't too happy with the results. Eventually I went back to it and created some new loops, played them back with some of the original version's loops and made some dubs. The finished track isn't a live dub performance but it has roots in me fiddling around and seeing what worked and I what I liked. It was the first time I've done anything like this so I was learning as I was creating.
The only live recordings are of a bass guitar, melodica and a tiny Korg synth I borrowed from a friend. The other main vocal samples come from a promotional record advertising an effects unit for wind instruments called a Varitone.
When you say album, are you using the Arabic for 'the' when you say 'al'? What do i think of the bum? Daniel Kitson as the bum or the bum as an entity in itself? Although the bum as an entity in itself would be a bit weird, so I'll assume you mean Daniel Kitson as the bum, yeah I love 'im, bloody wordy geezer. blimey100
